Legends is the reality of Hi-mi-ka-las, Pamela Baker, a
native artist/designer from North Vancouver, B.C. Hi-mi-ki-las's expression of her culture, through visual
arts have found it's place in the vibrantly creative
world of fashion designs and for which she has been
recognized throughout North America.
Pam's mother (Kwakiutl) is from Kingcome Inlet and is a direct descendant of the renown Hunt family and Mungo Martin, her great-great grandmother, Mary Ebbetts a Tlingit Chilkat weaver. Pam's late father is from the Squamish Nation. First Nations Northwest Coast art has always been and interest and a part of Pam's life since childhood. She has been trained in the traditional design elements of her culture and heritage, as well as in the field of fashion design (Otis College of Art & Design, Los Angeles, CA.)
With this combination and dedication to her art and fashion design, you can look forward to seeing her evening wear collections. TOC Legends fulfills immediate custom orders with a Touch of Culture and eventually limited editions utilizing fine fabrics embellished with her First Nations contemporary artwork, in the very near future!
